The Institute of Many (TIM)

The Institute of Many (TIM) is a peer-led community for people living with HIV in Australia. TIM provides a safe, informal, and confidential space where individuals can connect, share experiences, and support each other.

What is TIM?

TIM is a peer-led community for people living with HIV in Australia. It operates through a private Facebook group and in-person gatherings, including TIM Town Halls and informal meetups.

Our History

Founded in 2012 by Nic Holas and Jeff Lange, TIM began as a support network for graduates of the ACON Genesis workshop (now aStart). It quickly grew into a broader community, providing ongoing connection and support. In 2022, TIM partnered with NAPWHA to strengthen its future and expand its reach within the HIV-positive community.

Why Join TIM?

Connecting with others who share your experience can be one of the most powerful steps after an HIV diagnosis. TIM provides a safe, private, and supportive space to do just that. By joining TIM, you gain access to a welcoming community where you can talk, share knowledge, and build connections with others living with HIV. You’ll also stay informed about support services, events, and resources available near you.

TIM is a Facebook group that is open to anyone with HIV.

Things to consider before joining:

The TIM Facebook group is a closed and private group. This means that people who are not members cannot see current members of the group. However, other members of TIM can see the names of other members. Please consider this before joining.

 Confidentiality Statement:

Please note, this is a private group. Anything expressed/shared here should be treated with respect, and must not distributed/published/referenced elsewhere. We encourage frank, open discussion, but hostile/aggressive behaviour may result in removal from the group. All group members are encouraged to invite like-minded people to join, however if you have been invited to this group and do not feel it is your kind of thing, feel free to leave the group at any time. If you find you are re-added by another friend, please let us know.
