Coronavirus (COVID-19) is raising valid concerns among our communities and one such concern is around the possibility of interrupted supply chains for medications for people living with HIV and PrEP users. NAPWHA has co-produced with AFAO and ASHM an updated fact sheet specifically for LGBTIQ and HIV communities.

‘Every Journey Counts’ — NAPWHA launches video campaign for World AIDS Day

At the NAPWHA and AFAO joint Annual General Meeting 2019, we posed several questions to community advocates and leaders to craft a series of videos for World AIDS Day 2019 and to put people living with HIV at the heart of the campaign. The Australian theme for this year’s World AIDS Day is ‘Every Journey Counts’, and in our video series we ask our advocates and leaders what that theme means to them.

NAPWHA & AFAO oppose move to introduce mandatory HIV testing

The National Association of People with HIV (NAPWHA), Australia’s peak non-government organisation representing community-based groups of people with HIV (PLHIV), and AFAO, the peak national organisation for Australia’s community HIV response – strongly oppose moves by NSW Labor to introduce a Bill to enforce mandatory testing of individuals whose bodily fluids come into contact with emergency services personnel, such as police officers.

NAPWHA reports back from member’s AGM 2019

NAPWHA members and associates from all Australian States and Territories and New Zealand gathered for the annual general meeting in Sydney, on 26 October 2019, also co-jointly with AFAO members on 27 October 2019. The warmest of welcomes were extended to Sydney-based Bobby Goldsmith Foundation (BGF), Papua New Guinea’s Igat Hope Inc., and Estrela+ of Timor-Leste, which were admitted as associate members.
