Stribild  is a one-pill, once-a-day fixed dose combination (FDC)  containing Elvitegravir/cobicistat/emtricitabine/tenofovir, for the treatment of HIV. 

Stribild, also called the Quad Pill directly suppress HIV viral reproduction. Cobicistat increases the effectiveness of the combination by inhibiting liver enzymes that metabolize the other components.

Stribild is a one-pill prescription medicine used as a complete treatment for HIV for people aged 18 and over who have never taken HIV treatment, or who have previously taken treatment and do not have resistance to any of the medications contained in Stribild.

Taking it

This product contains multiple medicines which comprise a complete antiretroviral regimen for most people. However your doctor may prescribe other antiretrovirals to be taken in combination with Elvitegravir+cobicistat+emtricitabine+tenofovir if needed. Your doctor will advise you on the right combination of drugs to suit your circumstances.


Stribild contains 200mg of emtricitabine, 245mg of tenofovir disoproxil and 150mg of elvitegravir, and 150mg cobicistat.

Side effect

Interactions with other drugs

Stribild contains Cobicistat, which is a booster of Elvitegravir which is also contained in Stribild. Cobicistat can boost the levels of other medications, including some HIV medications as well as medications used to treat erectile dysfunction (eg Viagra). Cobicistat can also boost the levels of some recreational drugs including methamphetamine, ecstacy, cocaine and other amphetamines. If you are taking Stribild you should tell your doctor and pharmacist about all medications, recreational drugs and supplements that you are taking.
