HALC (HIV/AIDS Legal Centre) needs your help so that it can continue providing expert advice to people with HIV-related legal problems.

HALC is a not-for-profit community centre — the only one of its kind in Australia. It tackles stigma and discrimination by providing specialist legal services to vulnerable people living with HIV. Last year, HALC provided more than 1,000 clients with 17,000 hours of legal support.

HALC is asking for donations so it can continue the work that the government does not fund. Donations go directly to providing services such as wages for frontline lawyers and paralegals; for court application and subpoena fees; to meet the basic costs of a dedicated team of volunteers (pictured).

Over the course of its fundraising campaign, HALC staff and volunteers will be sharing stories — 45 days, 45 lives. Support the campaign on Facebook. And donate here.
